Oil smearing
Jump to navigation
Jump to search
Oil smearing in a petroleum reservoir occurs when oil migrates to the gas-cap area during gas blowdown, and is trapped in the gas-cap.
Because it leads to oil production and oil reserves losses, gas-cap blowdown projects are usually delayed until after commercial oil reserves recovery is completed.
