A casing or tubing repair technique that uses a packer at the top and bottom with a smaller diameter pipe in-between to isolate a breach in the pipe or seal off old perfs. Also used for a liner set in open hole to isolate an unstable zone or loss zone, rather than to increase the pressure containment capability of the well.
